Later in life, I sort of lived it, working in an academic medical setting for ten years. I retired from that job when I had my second baby, but it was also my favorite job--ever.

I loved the show when it first ran. I tried watching it recently. It's very sexist. It's hard to watch.
But, yeah the opening song is awesome.

(64,510 posts)School in my class, as was Rene Auberjonois, a charming man with great talent and poise (his father was in the Diplomatic Corps). Barbara Bosson came a year after I left to go to NYU and she became known on either Hill Street Blues or NYPD Blue or both and married its director Steven Bochco. All of these are now deceased, except for Converse (and I believe his first wife). Joe Tawil, a talented lighting director was also in my class and he, too, is deceased. I did not like him at all as he had the worst potty mouth of any man I had known at that point in my life.

METV radio presents TV show theme songs every day, always leading in with, "Do you recognize this iconic television theme song?" (possible slight paraphrase)
Then, they never, ever tell you what it is/was. I know more of them than not, but find it very frustrating when the station doesn't identity the music, and why the hell don't they? What's the point?

(125 posts)I loved Big Valley as a young kid. I think that's why I really love Burt Bacharach "big" song productions.
When I was 9, I discovered 16 magazine and The Partridge Family was going to premiere that fall. I fell in love with David Cassidy and the opening song which changed after the first episode. Yep, the teen magazine industry got me (and my friends) hook line and sinker. I pouted until my parents bought "I Think I Love You" then the full album. Heavens, where did the time go?
