Got a dime size chip recently.
Called the local windshield guys who are usually reasonable with pricing.
They wanted $90 to fix a chip.
They only charged me $240 to replace my driver side glass a couple years ago
Needless to say I thought $90 was steep.
So $12 and about 45 minutes yesterday is what it cost me to do it myself.
The resin did fill the chip and the two little spider legs are gone. There is a dime size circular mark remaining but appears to have filled well and the wiper isnt going to get chewed up any more.
Recommend the product and I still have most of the resin and the rest of the kit in case I get another rock chip.

(6,067 posts)I am pleased with how it turned out so I recommended it as an alternative to a more expensive option.
If it goes bad I will update this recommendation. Winter will tell
The last chip I had, I didnt treat and winter freeze thaw made the chip crack all the way across the windshield and forced a windshield replacement. And three years of insurance tracking on the claim.
$12 and 45 minutes is worth it to me to see if it holds.

(6,067 posts)This is the type and size of the chip I filled.
Turned out about the same as in the video.
The chip on my windshield was just to the right of the middle of my drive line sight.
It bothered me a lot.
It wont now. It is a pin head size compared to the chip.
