My 2020 encounter with a Trump Parade

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Lasher (a host of the The DU Lounge forum).

I was taking my first post-retirement vacation and driving my Prius through Cedar City, Utah when I found myself surround by giant pickup trucks and SUVs that were flying Trump flags and honking their horns. Probably over a hundred of them they drove down one of the town's main streets and turned around to make a continuous parade on both sides.

Nobody harassed me (no stickers on my car, but I clearly out of place.

I kept thinking of the line from "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade": "My boy, we are Pilgrims in an Unholy Land".

I also remembered this scene from "Tora, Tora, Tora"

Trucks, flying Trump flags and stickers, would drive down Main Street to the Walmart parking lot, turn around, and come back.

There would be a crowd of a couple hundred spectators, and food trucks and vendors.

Amazingly, this summer, the parade did not show up.

There doesn't seem to be nearly as much enthusiasm for Trump as there has been for the last 8 years or so.
