Good news for our Soldiers: Free access to all NFL games on American Forces Network

Our nation's military personnel can enjoy watching a full season of NFL games on the American Forces Network after getting approval from the professional sports league. Every NFL game will be featured on the AFN Now app live and on demand, which enables military personnel to stream their favorite teams nearly anywhere and at any time free of charge.

Service members can access games between 24 and 48 hours after their live broadcasts using the AFN Now app, which will make the games available for seven days. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen, can stream NFL games on up to four devices, including smartphones, tablets and streaming devices, such as Roku, Apple TV and Amazon's Fire Stick.

The free broadcasts and on-demand access via the AFN Now app will continue through the Super Bowl.

Service members can download the AFN Now app without charge and register their respective accounts to view the NFL games and other content.

AFN is a service of the federal government, and the federal government can't sell ad time on their tv station...so, they have all these PSAs that you're supposed to sit through. They used to be really bad and probably still are. The worst one of them all was The Energy Rapper. They got this black kid who was so skinny his boots weighed more than he did and forced him to do a rap about the joys of turning off lights and turning down the thermostat. Half of us thought he made the commercial the day before he left Germany so no one would recognize him; the rest of us figured they must have cut him a deal where they wouldn't punish him for being late to formation three times last week if he made this ad.

One year in the 1980s AFN was airing the Super Bowl and played one of their more odious PSAs at the exact same time the game-winning touchdown was being scored.
