I use MacMail and Comcast automatically put most junk in a Junk folder. It has a nice function when I can just erase all of them with one click. But first I glance at the list to catch any that should have gone to the Inbox.
Most are about medical "conditions."
Metabolic Problems, nerve repair, high cholesterol, knee pain and then the.. ahem.. penis growth, penis saver, Hugh and Hard...
It used to be about 10 a day, now 25. And, of course, some that make it to the inbox like Paypal (I don't have an account), parcel that cannot be delivered, etc.
Does it ever pay? I know that with one click these "missives" are being sent around the globe but, really.
I wonder whether I should change my email address..

(2,164 posts)Create at least a second email and do not give it to anyone except personal friends. I have 4 active email addresses
1. 100% junk, web account, never even check it, use it to register at sites I will never return to, etc.
2. Catch-all, some junk gets there, otherwise semi-useful email and I accept the junk and create rules to block specific ones.
3. Amazon has it, Paypal (I have account) has it, mostly for receipts and remarkably stays 98% junk-free.
4. Personal account. Very few have this, the only business that has it is Smugmug (photo gallery). 0% junk, ever.

(4,383 posts)And it works great with desktop browser extension
You can sign up for DuckDuckGo Email Protection in a DuckDuckGo mobile browser (iOS/Android) by opening Settings and then selecting Email Protection. On desktop, navigate to https://duckduckgo.com/email while using a DuckDuckGo desktop browser (Mac/Windows) or desktop browser extension (Firefox/Chrome/Edge/Brave/Opera).

(4,383 posts)I use the browser extension, so whenever a site asks me for an email address, I just right-click and generate a new disposable forwarding address for it. Then later all I have to do is click a link in any email header to trash that address, and anything forwarded through it. It's very reliable and convenient, works great for me.
Good luck!
