I googled it and got "rolling on the floor, laughing my ass off, peeing my pants." That's definitely not too racy for this place. 😁

It means I could've texted "thank you" but I'm not really all that grateful though I felt some reply was necessary and I wanted to show how incredibly chill, busy or withit I am by just typing two letters. Meanwhile, all "thank you" does is express heartfelt gratitude, which is apparently a pretty lame thing to do nowadays.

It is often just an attitude that can actually mean FU. Also I've seen "LOL" used passive-aggressively so often that I refuse to use it.

That is exactly what it sounds like. I remember seeing people insult someone and following it with "lol". You know, like they were just kidding, but of course they weren't and they knew the recipient knew they weren't. The stupid "lol" was like a knife in the back.

We communicate with so many people online these days, so I try very hard to be sure whatever I write can be understood clearly by anyone reading it.

...why do they begin with 2024. I know we get electronic devices in the hands of kids pretty early, but surely not infants. I'm old, I just woke up, and I'm cranky. So, don't get me started....

There has been a shift to which I cannot get accustomed. I'm either "Mr. Last Name", or I am "First name". This "Mr. First name" makes no sense to me. We're either being formal or not. Furthermore, if the issue is making sure we have identified the correct person, maybe it should be "Mr. First and Last Name"?

I know "Okay Boomer".
