…they went to all rocking chairs and required reservations for seats. We used to just stop in for matinees and pick seats in the back

I stuff both in my mouth at the same time. Heaven! Good thing I seldom go to movies. At home I have an apple and a few cashews. Why I go crazy in the theater, I don’t know. Maybe a throwback to childhood. 😊

Now I'm very glad I did.

There is a reason that I choose Milk Duds for Movies. The Big Box that you can get at the movies to share, will last the entire movie, if you just let the delicious caramel and chocolate melt in your mouth slowly.

Trader Joe's has some great Dark Chocolate Caramels. It is one of my weaknesses.

But, my teeth can't take it any more, lol.

I got this suggestion from Hedley Lamarr.

Between rasinets and junior mints. To go along with a baggie of pecans or almonds smuggled in my pocket. Otherwise they are both too sweet.

It's odd because I never make popcorn watching movies at home. It's the same as eating bread before a meal, you only do that when you are eating out.

At home? Nary a roll from the store on the counter unless it's a Fall or Winter holiday dinner.

When we're out? I'll practically strap those 'for later' bread sticks to my chest like I'm in Midnight Express.

If I buy them? They're just not the same. They don't taste like that. There's just something about restaurant bread. I don't get it either.

with as much butter as they‘ll put on it. There are no calories in a movie theater.

Just habit.

Or chocolate and toffee. I make homemade toffee with toasted almonds, and melt Hershey's chocolate on top. That is my absolute favorite candy. Like an almond rocha bar. Mmmm

Raisinets are the Devil's "candy" i.e. a dirty trick, Junior Mints are too sweet, popcorn, meh, so Reeses Pieces it is. Although my favorites are the Whoppers. Or Peanut M & Ms.

But, I'd have to get popcorn too, or my wife would leave me at the theater.

I’d have to have both. You need the sweetness of raisinets to balance the saltiness on the popcorn. And raisins are healthy🙂.

Also, don't build a theater across the lot from a Dollar Tree. Folks seeing the same size boxes sold for $5 will get incentive.

Oh, also. I pick Sweetarts for my movie candy. The big ones. Two rolls will last a movie.

But... sneak in a box of Junior Mints!

If I eat popcorn I'll get thirsty so I'll also need a soft drink and then I'll have to go to the bathroom, which means I'll have to get up and miss part of the movie, or I'll sit there uncomfortable and distracted because I have to go to the bathroom. So on the very rare occasions when I go to a movie in a theater I don't buy anything.

the movie theatre where they had an awesome machine that popped the corn and buttered it.

Movie going was a great pastime for me, particularly when I was able to go by myself (altho I had one bad experience with a creepy guy who wanted to take my hand (and perhaps do something for him). I learned then to go sit where nobody was around me.

I think they were trying to copy the fabulous Garnier theatre in Paris!
