The DU Lounge

Halloween aside, there's something foul and oppressive settling over my city. It's probably just my anxiety over the election, but I fel like 'something wicked this way comes'.

If you are generally anxious with the days until the election quickly dwindling, I get it... I would imagine all of us feel that way.

(106,333 posts)anxiety--especially as supposedly supportive "news" sources do nothing but echo it (Morning Joe this AM was rightly discussing the issue, but rapidly turned to stressing Harris' need to win over men's votes and did an entire 45-minute segment on why they (less educated blue collar [i.e., "macho" men] would not/should NOT support her)--uggh
Yet the 10 seconds discussing Springsteen's endorsement was paired with a segment suggesting Walz was not going to appeal to the "men's men" that Vance inexplicably had begun to attract after the debate.
So, I know the men who frequent DU and are staunch Democrats may be as annoyed and baffled as I am at those who think Walz is not "man enough," but I'll ask, nonetheless... Can "real men" not be "nice?" Do they have to lash out and show unbridled hate and resentment toward educated, intelligent (and yes, opinionated) women to be considered "men's men?"
Yeah, this did not do a lot for my own anxiety either.

Your post help, so thanks.
