(4,873 posts)Yeah, Reese's is awesome, too. We used to call them Reesie cups.

(32,835 posts)I wasn't even aware there was such a thing. There used to be a candy bar called a Mars Bar, which cost a dime when they rest of them cost a nickel, and that's what Snickers with almonds is today.
Did you ever have a Three Musketeers, back when there were three flavors of nougat under the chocolate--pink, white, and brown, just like Neapolitan ice cream.

(4,873 posts)How about a Seven-Up Bar, which had seven sections, each with a different filling? They weren't around long (copyright problems, I expect).

(32,835 posts)My favorite candy bar to this day is Crunchie.

(7,019 posts)Snickers should be there, and would be #2. after that, I would pass.
Niagara
(9,565 posts)1. Plain and Peanut M&M's
2. Reese's Cups
3. Payday ..I know it wasn't a choice
The rest I'll throw in the Halloween free for all bowl in The Lounge. I don't know if I can consume any of the Hershey mini bars so they're being placed in the free for all bowl as well.
True Dough
(20,252 posts)I'm suspect scholars will cite your list for many years to come.
I'd rank Reese's Cups ahead of M&Ms based on taste, but you know that those cups melt in your hand while M&Ms do not, so there's a major point in favor of M&Ms!
Niagara
(9,565 posts)I think about and plan for it all year round.
I have to be honest, I love homemade Buckeye candies much more than Reese's Cups, but that's not going to stop me from indulging in a peanut butter cup once in awhile.
I do have to watch the ingredients on packages due to gluten, rye and barely. Oreo's have gluten free options available, which is bad for me because who can stop at one or two Oreo's? I'm also a carb counter.

True Dough
(20,252 posts)Turning that list practically upside down. Butterfinger at #1 and Hot Tamales climbing into the #2 spot.
I'm with ya on the Sour Patch and Skittles. Sour and fruity candy ain't my thing!
Skittles
(159,247 posts)yes INDEED
True Dough
(20,252 posts)you'd be partial to Skittles. Not sure what gave it away, but there's something in the air...

(51,439 posts)All the chocolate first, with Reese's at the top followed by M&Ms.
Then Starburst, followed by all the non-chocolate and Hot Tamales at the bottom.
Fun comment: My dad was in charge of buying the Halloween candy when we were growing up. We lived fairly high up on a hill, so he always bought his favorite candy - caramel suckers.

(22,886 posts)My neighbor has two bowls for trick or treaters. One has full sized candy bars for the kids, not the silly little one-bite teasers. The other has little soldiers, nips or whatever you call the airplane-sized alcoholic beverages.
Ill be away this Halloween so no candy for me!

(25,433 posts)...that are about as big around as a small tea cup saucer? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After that:
- M&Ms - they need to bring back the Christmas white chocolate peppermint flavor/ the key lime ones are nasty
- Hershey's
I don't care for the rest of the choices.

(69,864 posts)I am doing this under protest, because no Twix or Snickers, but:
2 Reeses

4 Skittles
5 Starburst
6 Hot Tamakes
3 Sour Patch

(69,864 posts)Big fan of both those candy bars.
We buy the stuff we like for Halloween so the leftovers get used. Twix, Snickers, Milky Way, Baby Ruth, Butterfinger.
Truth be known, I'm not big on candy that doesn't involve chocolate. (Except for caramel.)
Skittles & Twizzlers are probably the whole list of non-chocolate candy.
