Bc I just did deb's one food challenge, and I had a dessert on my narrow it down list, I decided to toss it out here.
Dark chocolate 🩷 is my favorite dessert in almost any form!
As much as I love Ice Cream(!!!!!) I'm choosing this instead.
(I just had Talenti's double dark chocolate gelato for the first time in a few months. Little irregular chips, and a touch of Vermouth. Not my favorite liquor at all but it's minimal enough I can ignore it. Probably would have preferred a bit of bourbon instead)
So there's a particular chocolatier's Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip cookie with Walnuts.
Ohhhhh, yum.
I love the heft if this cookie (it's big). The dark chocolate is sooooo good! I also like having the extra taste, and contrast of the added walnuts.
What's yours?! 😄👍

I've seen several fascination episodes, but it's not on our local channel anymore. They do have "In The Americas" with David Yetman -- not quite as interesting, IMHO.

(7,309 posts)It's easy and so good. The trick to making it crunchy not sticky or tacky is a small amount of baking soda. Also, I buzz roasted almonds in my food processor, not too fine, and add that into the candy when it's ready to take off the burner. Then I either pour chocolate chips or plain Hershey bars on it to melt, then spread that around. Easy peasy.
4 sticks butter, real butter.
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
Cook on medium heat until that golden brown toffee color. About 300° - 320° F. Take off the heat and add 1/4 top baking soda and the 3/4 to 1cup chopped roasted almonds and stir. Pour on to buttered surface like a cookie sheet or large rectangle cake pan. Pour on the chips, 1 bag, or Hershey chocolate bar pieces (I use 6 regular bars) and when it melts spread it around. Let cool and enjoy!!

(20,153 posts)(separatey) chocolate, and hazelnut Gelato. I bought both to eat together! Yum!
One day if I see chocolate, and pistachio ice creams in the same freezer I might get both.
I actually had to put pistachios back this eve at the supermarket, didn't, quite have enough money on me.

(71,830 posts)That & creme brulee are pretty much the same thing.
Creme brulee has sugar put on top & torched while flan is served with a carmel sauce, and flan is a little stiffer, but they are both firm egg custards.
I'm a big fan of both.
Also, the Italian dessert panna cota is similar too, but there is gelatin added to make it even firmer.

He worked as a lobbyists for the trucking industry. One of his friends, a businessman who shipped their frozen food across the country, offered to make us a 'test family' for all the frozen desserts they were developing. Dad said no. We didn't let him forget that betrayal over the years.

If I'm allowed a combination, because some things just go together, it would be the most incredible chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream.
These things don't have any calories in them, correct?

Basically, you combine all your brownie mix, swirl in generous spoonsful of dulce de leche and bake!

(24,650 posts)It's the best thing to ever cross my lips, but it sounds so weird. It's dark choclate, shaped & colored like like a lucious pair of red lips, but with a dark choclate & gin filling. It's to die for, you'd never ever guess it had gin in it, but it makes the chocolate freakishly delicious. I tasted it when in Belgium 12 years ago and ordered boxes of his chocolates that included this one for all the family. It was a crazy expense, I spent more on shipping than the boxes, but it was so worth it for the smiles and groans as my loved ones tried these oh so tasty treats. I kept the pamphlet that came with the box in case I ever have extra $$ and can splurge again.

OMG, I could keep going. Because I forgot about bread pudding. But, the way they make bread pudding now is awful. It has to be moist and custard/like. Not too bready. . Southerners really do make the best desserts.
