Just got on the scale. Lost 9 pounds in two weeks.

Here's what I've been eating since I left the hospital:

Oatmeal with fruit

Bananas

Apples

An occasional slice of cheese

Spanish rice made with brown rice

Fermented pickles

I had 1/2 of 1/2 of a steak and cheese sub sandwich yesterday on a whole wheat roll

At least 12 ounces of yogurt per day

Toast with butter made with hearty whole grain bread.

I'm supposed to stay away from white flour as much as possible.

At least 64 ounces of water per day, plus several mugs of black De-caf coffee.

I did have 3 cookies in these two weeks, but that's about it for the junk food.

I want a pizza so bad.

I also bought some whole grain pasta that I'll cook up with just some butter on it, but I haven't done that yet.

NO energy and just aches and pains traveling from one spot to another. I've gotten most of my stamina back so Yes I'm 95% mended, Tnx for asking..
BTW I would not wish this version of covid on anyone. I't was horrible. I found out later Paxlovid would have been a real help as it stops the virus from multiplying and causing less of an impact

On another note if you can keep up eating more plants you will get healthy. The science is out there proving that a whole food plant based way of eating will keep you healthy for a long time.
You want your "health span" to equal your "Life Span". ... Ease into it and yes I cheat. I had a slice of Detroit Pizza the other day and It was glorious! I look forward to to my cheat/eat days. Gives me something to look forward to.
The one way I do it is this

“Eat REAL food. Not too much. Mostly plants” is a famous quote by journalist and author Michael Pollan, who suggests it as a simple guide for healthy eating:
Eat food: Pollan defines "food" as
real food, not processed foods or imitations. Real food doesn't have a long list of ingredients, isn't advertised on TV, and is something your great-grandmother would recognize.
Not too much: Pollan suggests eating less and paying more.
Mostly plants: Pollan's advice is to shift the ratio of animal to plant foods in your diet. This approach is also known as a flexitarian diet.

It helps to be sick. I stopped eating, no apatite, everything (except chocolate Boot and Ensure) tasted horrible. Doctors just shrugged their shoulders and said to keep consuming the Boost/Ensure until you can eat again.

visit coming up on Monday.

If I continue losing weight at this rate, by next summer, I'll weigh about tree-fiddy. If the weight loss slows down, by next summer, I'll weight about a buck three-eighty.

Jokes aside, I'm still not up to par, and I'm worried it's something worse than an infection. But that's probably just anxiety talking.

Just keep up with the recommended regimen (with a few odd cookies) and hopefully you'll be back on track before too long. Sounds like you're making progress. That's something! We'll take it!

I guess I cheated tonight. I was so damn hungry that I ate everything in the kitchen that wasn't moving. Even some stuff that was moving!

Nothing unhealthy, but I ate a lot, so I guess it's good I have an appetite.

Those fermented pickles are great! the label says zero calories. How can a pickle have zero calories? Or are all pickles like that?

I'm surprised they haven't given me a pregnancy test yet.

Well, one of them actually did ask me if there was the possibility I could be pregnant.

And I said PREGNANT? I haven't had sex since the Truman administration!

Im a fan of yours, if I lost 9 in a week,, I would be I'm ER. As I had gastric bypass surgery.
I can't eat , your menu , for, a day, maybe 3 days for me.
I snack on protein bars. I went from 450
To 208 now..
Lose enough of your body weight,, it becomes, a medical thing.
You have that many calories, as you stated, daily, you shouldn't be losing weight.
Un less you are jumping off walls..
You may need to check yourself in
Im reading, a psyche issue,

A week of that two weeks was spent in the hospital where I couldn't eat much. I'm now recovering from that stay, and I can only eat certain foods that are not very calorie dense.

I was inpatient for a GI infection. And except for this evening, where I ate a lot of food, I've been limiting my calories severely out of necessity. I'm following doctor's orders until this thing finally goes away.
