My son spent a year on a carrier flight deck before joining the SeaBees. Significant hearing loss despite using all the mandated protections.

Blue Angels.

They flew over a road where I was driving near an air show in Hillsboro, Oregon, and just about blew me and my truck off the road.

The noise they made was loud, but didn't go on for long. The annoyance came in the weeks after the air shows when the local air station throttle-jockeys were up all day, every day for weeks, trying to do Blue Angles tricks.

specifically to the oil pan/system, that allows them do all those tricks like fly upside down.

… right angles or obtuse angles?

I know your pain… I live a few miles from an air base next to a municipal airport that hosts an air show every summer. They or another team of similar extremely noisy jets come nearly every year, and I swear that they come right over my home at low altitude when they practice. Could rattle my fillings loose!

for NAS Oceana and live with the jet noise ever' damned day.

We had an airshow a couple of weeks ago, Blue Angels included, and the week or more before the show the noise was constant with all of the planes practicing.

I do love watching them but I wish they came with mufflers.

toking weed with my brother sometime in the 70's. It was the day before the air show at Lakefront airport in Cleveland.
They practiced the whole routine and we think they used our position as the center of their show. At one point each one sped towards us from the 4 points of the compass and shot straight up right on top of us. We could feel the jet wash. One the best days of my life.

we’re going to perform and got to watch them practice. It’s amazing what those aircraft can do with a skilled pilot flying them.
