any history/trivia/etc buffs here? Question:

spouse recently acquired some old family pics. One in particular has a quote written on the back. Some background…

1) probably (almost certainly) 1950’s
2) probably North Dakota
3) handsome young man on motorcycle, hands in pockets
4) i have searched the internet for the following quote, but have gained no insight

and now my question: on the back of the photo in pencil is written in cursive script:

“50,000 Babylonians can’t be wrong”-
(They all want to buy one)—

does that phrase ring a bell for anyone?

biblical/racial/etc line of thinking. I’m not sure why though.

Was friendly with a motorcycle ‘group’, gang sounds too bad, nice guys…they talked volumes about cycles…I don’t ride never did.
So that’s where I went.
