One of our other dogs is a whirling dervish when it's time for the bowls to go down, and Kirby wanted to join in. He started with one spin, then for a long time it was 3 spins (often still is), then he moved to 4 spins. His record is 8 in a row, but he mostly stays with 3 or 4. Decided to do it on his own!

But I understand most Goldens do this.

She also puts her head and front paws down on the ground and sticks her butt up in the air so I’ll scratch it. I call it her downward dog.

Which is unusual, I suppose. She’s a Manx cat with a big infusion of those genes. Absolutely tailless, built like a black bear cub, and hops when in a hurry.

Never could teach her to flush it, though. After she finished, she would run through the house like her tail was on fire.
I still have a picture of her seated on the toilet doing it; she got very indignant about me violating her privacy to take that photo--wouldn't speak to me for a couple days.

...I've had three or four that figured out how to train ME! They probably thought I made a pretty good house-pet for them!
