Already used utensil in Rosemary's Baby movie clip. ⚠ May Produce A Gag Reflex ⚠

I can't tell you how many times I've watched this movie. I happened to notice this particular scene during the pandemic.

Rosemary (Mia Farrow) and Guy (John Cassavetes) are eating dinner with neighbor's Minnie (Ruth Gordon) and Roman (Sidney Blackmer).

The dinner plates are cleared and out comes real cake, clean dessert plates and a cake server.

Ruth is watching John eat his piece of cake and offers him an addition piece of cake....she uses the fork that she already had in her mouth several times to serve the additional piece of cake to John instead of using the cake server utensil.

It's just something that I watched again and again and happened to notice one day. Welcome to my world.

As they would say in Italian:

"What are we, animale"?

You have a good eye. I would not have seen that!

It took me many years to notice that, Lucky.

Now, if you'll excuse me... I need to go lick all utensils and coffee mugs in the house!

Polanski controlled every aspect of that film.

I read somewhere that he showed Sharon the scene where a neighbor is on the phone in a bedroom. It is purposely filmed so that you subconsciously tilt your head to try and see better. Polanski may be a swine but he is a great filmmaker.

I love that film. It's like a trip to 1960's. Same reason I like "In Cold Blood." It's literally like a trip to the 1950's.
