(6,349 posts)I have been playing that game for 44 years!
Still my favorite game to play. And, we do, every week!

(68,357 posts)Even out in the field. Any time there was a break in the training, wed gather at one of the tanks, the DM would get out his dice, his screen, and his adventure module notes, and wed have a little fun.
Interesting craving for adventure. There we were, surrounded by a company of million-dollar tanks, high-tech equipment like night-vision goggles and targeting computers, and of course, all of the small arms, machine guns, and heavy weaponry you can imagine.
And we were using our imaginations to conjure up a fantasy sword-and-sorcery epic.

(6,349 posts)I used to be in a band that toured all through the southeast and we often hit 'military' towns. We, as a group, often played (I was the DM) on the road. We had people who played with us when we were in town. The military towns were where we had the biggest groups to join us. There were always players in all branches that we played with. One Army buddy told me that they usually strapped a folding table to one of the tanks to have it for gaming in the field. LOL.
