My wife made a somewhat unreasonable request of me this afternoon.

She said, "Can you promise to live at least another five years?"

It's not like it's under my control, is it?

I have a doctor who likes to give me a probabilistic estimate of how long I'll live based on my height and weight and the results of my tests.

Since I lost 30 pounds after starting Ozempic, he added a few years when I saw him the other day for some pain, depending on the outcome of my MRI Wednesday.

I've had a wonderful life; my wife is the reason, so I'll do my best to comply.

I certainly wish to live long enough to see our first woman President inaugurated this January.
