Many bemoan the muskrat’s power and influence, yet DU is choc-a-bloc with xitter links. I’ve heard many excuses for maintaining ties to that site, and none are satisfactory IMO.

Install Privacy Badger on your browser, it will block embedded twitter content from showing up on the non twitter web sites that you visit. You have the option to allow that content once, always allow it on that given site or just keep ignore the embeds.

Every time you follow a link to a tweet, twitter records that as a page view. They will use that to compile numbers to show to advertisers how much traffic they generate and that is how they convince companies to spend advertising dollars with them. Even if you don't follow the links and just view the embedded content on the site where it is embedded without ever going to twitter, that is recorded as an interaction with twitter content. That still helps his advertising numbers.

Never go to twitter, block the embeds on 3rd party sites. Those will both help to starve twitter. If there is a big enough drop off in page views and content interaction, advertisers will take their ad dollars elsewhere. Hopefully twitter collapses and muskrat loses that bullhorn for spewing his lies.

Add Bluesky to the all of the other major 'social' networks I've never been on or subscribed to, Facebook, Twitter (X) or even the ancient Myspace. DU works for me just fine.
