I love my dark roasted coffees. Ethiopian Yrgacheffe, Sumatran, Jamaica Blue Mountain. Mmmmm.

No sugar, heavy half and half. Hot or cold, my favorite.

The caffeine, otherwise it's hardly worth it. No wonder decaf gives me a headache!

The ultimate bean broth, an absolute necessity!

But it’s not the decaf that’s giving you the headache, so much as the lack of caffeine. Back in my heavy coffee drinking days if I had a rushing morning and forgot my coffee I would get a terrible headache by midday from the caffeine withdrawal!

I was not addicted when I made the discovery, started trying decaf first and it was only after trying real coffee that I realized that the decaf was the problem. Not sure what it is but it's not caffeine withdrawal, had that before too and it's almost a full blown migraine... different animal.

Wonder what it could be? I always assumed decaf was just coffee minus the caffeine!

It's got something to do with the decaffeinating process.

But I like caffeine so until coffee becomes unavailable, I'll drink it. I make peace with the use by buying, exclusively, fair trade coffee from a trusted roaster... via mail order.

It is not chocolate dammit! I don’t care if you allege it has cocoa butter or whatever. Therefore it makes it okay to label it chocolate?! I don’t think so!
It’s not chocolate !

Mine has to be dark to qualify as the real thing. Otherwise, it's a waste of calories.

He doesn't want to even taste it. Had they called it something else, he might. I agree but not with any passion.

I was an original coffee lover and a trained barista.

Quick story. I once applied for a position at a Radio Shack in town. The manager and I sat and talked. One thing she said was, "I hope you are a big coffee person! We drink a lot of it here!" I replied that I was a big coffee person. We spoke for a bit more and then ended the interview. She said, "Well, I guess it is time for round two!" She the picked up her coffee cup and went to the station. She got a cup. I said, "Oh... you meant a second cup." She replied, "Yep!" I said, "Oh." She said, "Wait, what did you mean?" I replied "Pots." She exclaimed, "You drank one whole pot of coffee today?" I replied, "Well, it is summer, so I normally drink less during the summer." She was speechless. LOL.

Now, I have to drink decaf or not have any at all. I prefer the world to be a safer place, so I drink what I can to keep the peace.

Apparently there was some picture or something, but Imgur says it's no longer available.
