They will find them, and once they know about them you'll have plenty of traffic. If I don't refill my feeders right away sometimes it takes a little while for them to come back, but if I refill them as soon as they are empty the birds come back to them by the time I'm back inside the house. Right now I've got a bunch of house finches and a downy woodpecker on the two I can see from here, and more lurking in nearby trees. Check this out: https://feederwatch.org/
