There is an old one from the 1930s that is particularly creepy. I was 7 years old and sick with the mumps (yes I am that old) and couldn't sleep so I was allowed to be on the couch and watch TV late at night. So here I was, alone in the dark watching that scary thing. The Ghosts of Christmas Future scared the Bejeebus out of me. It didn't stop me from watching all the versions.

When I was in Elementary School, one of the teachers organized a production which went around to all the classes from 6th grade down. It was a highlight

Scrooge was parsimonious; he wouldn’t have eaten enough, or have eaten rich food to look like Scott, who otherwise was great in the role, as was Mr. Weasley (David Warner) as Bob Cratchit.

My favorite was the 1951 Alastair Sim version, just because that’s what I grew up with.

I LOVE both the George C. Scott and the Alastair Sim versions.

I subscribe to HBO and over these past Thanksgiving Holidays (since Wed. - Today, Sunday) I have many, many free stations. Starz, Cinemax, Showtime, Xtra.

I've been able to record a boatload of movies on my DVR. The George C. Scott movie played this morning and the Alastair Sim one plays today. I'll be able to watch them throughout the season.

Have several movies that I have to watch, Polar Express, A Christmas Carol, A Christmas Story, The Bishop's Wife, etc. I really like Alastair Sim best, especially the post ghost scenes. I also like the George C Scott version because, George C Scott. Intensely dislike the Guy Pearce and Reginald Owen offerings and muppets, puppies and so on. It may be some sort of perversion...but I also like the Buddy Hackett version, but mostly for Carol Kane's Ghost of Christmas Present. Seeing them all, though! That must take forever! I just checked to find at least 51 different versions!

I like the dark mood & the very gradual resignation by Scrooge that he has no choice in the matter. So, he tolerates it, until he actually sees the light.
I also enjoy the comedy version Scrooged & the made for TV interpretation called "An American Christmas Carol" with Henry Winkler.
The 1939 version with Reginald Owen us probably my least favorite.

Christmas Carol.." (Sir Patrick's and Henry's versions are free on youtube right now.) And, yes, I like all the variations that have been made over the years, especially the Cicely Tyson one, and the Vanessa Wlliams one.

I love the ending lines (approximately, could find to quote)
And he became as good a father (?uncle) to Tiny Tim, and as good a man as this or any ole city ever knew.

And it was said that if any man kept the Spirit of Christmas (?all year long)...

My favorite scene is at Scrooge's Nephew's Chrstmas when they stop dancing upon seeing Scrooge at the room's entrance; and the nephew's wife walks up to him.
Scrooge saying (with the music in the background) "Can you forgive a pig-headed old man with no eyes to see either, no ears to hear with all these years?".
She lifts her head, glowing saying "Bless you, dear Uncle, you've made Fred so happy, bless you.". She hugs him. "Bless you.".

Me: 🥹 happy sniffles! 😄

I also think Bill Murray's Scrooge is fabulous! 👍
