(23,281 posts)We wanted to let you know about two recent changes to your Internet Essentials plan.
First, were excited to share that last month we increased your Internet Essentials download speeds from up to 50 Mbps to up to 75 Mbps, a 50% boost in performance. These faster speeds are available to you now no action required and will allow you to connect even more devices for work, school, telehealth visits, and more. This is the seventh time weve increased download speeds for Internet Essentials customers since the program began.
Second, we want to remind you that the cost for Internet Essentials has increased from $9.95/mo to $14.95/mo. Youll see this change reflected on your bill on or before January 1, 2025. This is the first price increase for Internet Essentials since it launched in 2011 and more fully reflects the comprehensive and improved value of the service.
In addition to a fast, reliable home internet connection, this monthly cost includes:
Your internet equipment with advanced security
Unlimited data
Access to 23 million Xfinity WiFi hotspots
Option to purchase a Dell laptop for only $149.95 plus tax
Access to free digital skills training
Special offers and experiences through Xfinity Rewards
24/7 support
We hope you continue to enjoy all the benefits of being an Internet Essentials customer.
Thanks for being with Xfinity.
and i will never , ever own dell again.

(16,893 posts)Fidium with their fiber optic system who recently came to town was competing in the monthly price arena and the down load speeds offered.
So this forced the cable ISP - Spectrum to upgrade speeds but keep prices stable. Too many customers were making the switch to Fidium.
