It's the elusive skunk-squirrel!

I'm thinking that I don't want to know!

The skunk we had once had a different shaped head and bodly. But the white stripe does look skunk-like

I hope Pepe Le Pew isn't around.

They are white, not albino. I'd love to see some hybrids with the ubiquitous gray squirrels around here, but I never have. I'd also like to see a DNA analysis of that Tricolor squirrel.

I say this as a long time orphaned baby squirrel rehabber and furry tetrapod lover.

We had a great time with it until 16 weeks when we acclimated it to the wild. That alone took 2 weeks as he didn't want to leave at first. It wasn't until another squirrel about his size came around. We never saw him at the house again.

if they evolved the white streak as a defense, exploiting other animals' fear of skunks?

These Prevost squirrels from Southeast Asia are in zoos and in the pet trade ... background story may be related (?)
