Imagine a modern-day retelling of the classic movie Highlander, with four tech and business giants as the immortal characters.
In this scenario, Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos are all immortals, living among humans not so secretly competing in a game of survival.
Trump, the idiotic and confident "New York Highlander," wields a sword emblazoned with his family crest and the words "Make Immortality Great Again." He's a bumbling fighter with a talent for manipulating others to do his bidding.
Musk, the "Silicon Valley Samurai," is a thief of inventions and swordsman who has bought advanced technologies to aid him in battle. His sword shines with a neon glow, symbolizing his greed of money.
Zuckerberg, the "Facebook Fencer," is a quiet but naive opponent. His sword is adorned with tiny screens displaying endless streams of data and information, giving him misleading info of his opponents' moves.
Bezos, the "Amazon Assassin," is a ruthless and inefficient fighter. His sword is made from a rare Amazonian metal, allowing it to slice through every employee that makes him money.
As these immortals clash in epic battles across America , only one can ultimately claim victory and become the last one standing. Who will it be? The demented Trump, the greedy Musk, the idiot Zuckerberg, or the deplorable Bezos? There can be only one.

(818 posts)Highlander was a very cool and likeable movie. (Four movies, yes?) As well as an excellent TV show, with layered plots and story arcs.
There's nothing cool and likeable about these billionaires. They crave cool, especially Elon, but can't figure it out.
From your descriptions of these fighters, wouldn't the Mortal Combat movies be a better analogy?

(1,612 posts)Adrian Paul those blubbers are not. They are narcissistic sociopaths. Gigantic egos that all have the same god, money. They each want every cent. They will eventually go after each other and take all. That's why the There Can Only Be One.

(818 posts)Rather, they are all capitalists.
Some, like Musk, are out to destroy the world, so that he can remake it in his own image.
Some, like Bezos, are more like viruses that want to live off the host in perpetuity, but not kill it.
Some, like Zuck, want a piece of the action and to be seen as cool. Zuck has the former, and will always chase the latter.
