Was in at accountant getting my taxes done and in waiting area afterwards for 20 to get his done. This young lady was in waiting area and now in talking with her I could tell she was mentally handicapped.
No rude from me i have much compassion empathy for those handicapped I'm dyslexic or my heart goes out to those in addiction or those living clean and still in the fight.
And yet even i know the beast of addiction is in me from my life of alcoholism i dont really count my clean time.
Yet i am always on guard.
So i am waiting and this sweet kid maybe mid twenties in age she was waiting on her mom i guess and kid says to me is that your son she smiled and asked does he have a girlfriend.
I replied yes and she says out of blue Im sorry you lost your wife she must have heard me talking to the one accountant and then out of nowhere she says you have to be safe on the road.
And again she must have overheard me and accountant talking about my per diem I claim for days on road.
Tell you total stranger max innocence yet dam so pure in her heart especially her comment over my wife. Tell you on that I had to hold back my tears yet I so wanted to give her a hug i did not.
Yet what a beautiful person she is and I had pleasure to meet her.

You hold dear and appreciate the small niceties that happen in life. That's how to live a good life.

(3,633 posts)I have a developmentally disabled son who talks to people wherever we go. He is strikingly innocent, but many people are clearly unsettled by him.

(2,424 posts)Theres an old country song, the chorus of which is:
Ive rocked my babies
At night when they cried.
Ive watched their teardrops
Turn into smiles.
Ive seen the good times
And Ive seen the bad.
But I still think
The good times
Outweigh the bad!
