One of the mail carriers & Lucky have a relationship. I'm 3rd wheel but sorta included.

So here's the routine: Lucky can hear the truck's motor even that it's silent, and he charges our front screen door (yes, the screen is torn) for me to let him out, after which he runs out to yap at the truck at the mailbox outside the gate. This one carrier in the rotation interacts with him cutely and then drives away to a point up the street and turns around to do the other side of the street while Lucky keeps the watch and barking until the return trip on the other side of the street.

Here's the thing posted before: After the return trip and the whole deal is over, Lucky stays at the gate looking back to our front door for me to go out of the fence to retrieve the mail.

But new info: Caught the two of them with a new interaction today. The carrier inched the truck a couple of times while looking at Lucky doing the barking thing, then he *GUNNED* the engine to race off showing him his fence running was no match. Boys gotta play and one-up.

Tuesday

O.K., so today, the guy did the usual pausing the truck and leaning out the door to say something while Lucky yapped and ran up and down inside the fence, but today he lingered longer, leaning further and talking more and smiling more at Lucky before driving off.

He delivered mail here. This is important because then *this* happened: He did his usual route thing up the street then back on the other side of the street, and Lucky likewise waiting for the truck to come back. But then the truck stopped directly across the street, where there is no mailbox, dude got out and walked across the street back to our mailbox with Lucky at the gate yapping and jumping. He had an envelop in his hand to deliver here.

*** Oh, yeah, I'm SURE that he "forgot" a piece.

Like, nobody could see through that EXCUSE for coming back and full body interact with Lucky. The *BIG SMILE* ear to ear made the whole performance OBVIOUS!1 Neither one of them appeared to care whether I went to retrieve the (junk) "mail".

*** Glad I'm not jealous.
