Pretty seasonally typical. At least we don't have to shovel the heat.

of north Georgia. Elevation about 1600 feet, so that helps with the heat.

Heat Index is 107 at Weather.com
95 and 104 shaded at Accuweather, and 110 in the sun, I guess.
I'm not planning any outside activities until at least Thursday.

--and I simply will not use central $$$$$ air no matter what. SO, I have a portable swamp cooler (evaporative cooler for the East Coasters and Southerners who, because they don't work in humidity, probably have never heard of them). It leaks a bit and only has a two-gallon water tank, so though it will work in this semi-arid environment, it takes some work to keep it going (and ice packs or lots of ice). But, when the condenser for the A/C burned out with a horrible metal-on-metal loud racket at 2 AM two days ago--terrifying both me and my poor girlie dog, I swallowed the pain and got Amazon to send me what was recommended on reviews of the new (fairly pricey) portable AC units to replace my defunct one, and it just came today. The swamp cooler had the temp down to 85F (98F outside), but still hot. I have to admit there are times when only AC will be enough.

So, I just dragged the boxed 75-pound new unit up my two flights of stairs from my living room to bedroom and now have to take a rest before trying to unpack and install the hose setup in the window. Right now, I can't bear to deal with a south-east facing (hot, hot, hot) window to do it, but will soon. My girlie doggy has herself perched between the swamp cooler and the strategically positioned three other fans, so she's coping, but I halfway expect her to scream at me to GET THE DAMNED NEW AC SET UP NOW!

Thanks for letting me vent--today I have fully earned the name, "HOT HEAD." But please, all who manage to read this tome--I pray that you send good thoughts that my efforts will be successful and I won't have a defective unit to deal with. OMG. I would lose it!

I can tolerate what the swamp cooler will take it down to (85F) but she has a fur coat... I hate to even imagine.

The forecast was 92, but I never saw above 88.
But, the "feels like" was 100.
It was muggy.
Then, a breeze picked up, so in the shade of all our trees, I was able to fertilize the lawn. It was hot but not oppressive.
