I am broken hearted to inform you that Bob passed away this morning. Thank you all for the prayers. I will add his obituary to this thread when it's published. Thanks 🙏

I LOVED his posts, and always enjoyed reading them and all the responses he got. Anytime I saw one I instantly clicked on it.
His work is done, and he passed a BIG baton to the rest of us to carry on, and remain vigilant.

He brought love and laughter to DU. His Sunday morning posts were a must see for me first thing in the morning.

He was such a treasured soul on DU and he will really really be missed. But his legacy remains here on DU for people to revisit.

He and I also had a good relationship on social media outside of DU, and a day rarely went by when we did not communicate. He was such a sweet, goodhearted person. I wish I had had the privilege of meeting him in person. He had a wonderful sense of humor.
My heart is breaking a little.
Well, at least close to where I grew up in Huntingdon Valley. Nancy Spungen grew up there, too. I was just reading about her last night then today see the obit and it was another synchronicity thing that I experience a lot.
I have a feeling he may visit you, if he hasn't already. Be sure to remember your dreams and even write them down. My dad visited me twice, the night he died and 1 year later when my dog died. I hope you get a visit. It's comforting.
First post I always went to on Sundays. Loved all the cats.

he was one of the old guard, who made us look forward to the weekends. A reprieve from all the political talk, squabbling, etc. Bob sure will be missed.

Like most of us, I never met Bob, but rest assured that he touched my life as much as anyone's. I needed his joyous offerings more than most, and it is in no small way that I have been inspired by SalmonChantedEvening to offer a positive greeting to every day for all of our DU readers as a small gesture of appreciation for all that you do for so many.the same way SCE did.

Hours later, still tears. This one really hits hard.
There was not another person on this board who brought more joy to me personally, and, I imagine to all of us.
Lolcats was the one place on DU where I knew I would find laughter and happiness. Guaranteed. Every single time. And how we needed it. We will always need it. Bob left quite a legacy. How I wish I could have known him in real life. I am grateful I knew him through his posts.
I know that every Sunday I'm still going to be looking for that early morning post that I knew was going to make me laugh and smile.
Thank you, Bob. You made life better. What more could anyone ask for? Wherever you are now, may you be surrounded by love and peace.
was one of the nicest, most compassionate men I have ever met. Then there was his intelligence and humor which I will miss and have missed so much. I know you just had to know and feel how loved you were. We should all be so lucky to have made such a positive impact.
