My computer wants me to enjoy the AI love. Microsoft, HP. and Opera want me to AI...but I have no reason why.

I have no reason to talk with another computer. What am I missing? I stopped writing term papers 50 years ago.

3. They made it conversational and flattering. It's not always right.

It cannot extrapolate well. It's a good data dump, assembler of information. I don't like that I expect quick, true, reliable, helpful answers from it. It will make most brains atrophy. Plus, you should question everything it says. All must be independently verified. You get different answers from different AI. It will tell you A in one paragraph, and not-A in another. Particularly annoying when it comes to computer specs. Confabulation of the generations and the hardware, as well as the solutions. It's a tool, a socket wrench. No more.

If I want true thoughts, I'd read books.*

7. It's my last big adjustment (am 78 & counting). I don't understand it, not even the Before/"algorithm" much.

Have managed to stay stuck as Low Tech throughout the lifetime adjustments. Low Tech is a force of nature.

But to the topic: What little I've (can't use "grok" b/c MUSKrat and Dear Leader have ruined the language), picked up that the Creative contingent resent their originality being usurped by mindless automation. Yet, everywhere I turn in my Low Tech world (Google, Microsoft), am besieged to use their AI features. I've resisted as much as I can, don't do those, but have felled prey to YouTube videos using it a couple of times - AND have been throroughly lambasted by (I call: ) "AI Sleuths". Only posted a couple of those - AND it was from inadvertancy, and *not* from nefarious desire to mislead, AND with the content being *factual*. Yet the AI Sleuths lashed me to pieces.

*** Clue: I am a surface, Generalist, skimming type - *not* a Deep, pretentious, pedantic type who scours the university Stacks before posting. However, I possess and exercise Critical Thinking skills, have 2 useless degrees in Liberal Arts and, while posting *opinions* (like everybody) I don't post with an intention to deceive - yes, often without deep facts but not intent to deceive. Yet the Credentialed Specialists (are they? ) are immediate to seize on any detail to attempt to wreck an entire thread, the spirit of the content, the poster - to what end, to prove their supposed expertise?

So the current battlefield is to discredit on the basis of "AI"! --------------- "OMZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's AI!!!!!!"

*** I'll just say, an AI that has true content, with artistic illustration like a cartoon illustrating is not attempting to deceive. I grew up with negative connotations about Disney, but it was a *cartoon* - was it supposed to be taken as "real"? Was Bugs Bunny in Fantasia supposed to be mistaken for STOKOWSKI?

Since I don't do research before posting, the couple of times I've been gigged for AI, I've self-Deleted or tried to explain my inadvertance. But the AI craze reactions have gotten out of hand - one time that I posted something from (I forget) AP, NPR, Reuters, somebody posted, "Is this AI?"

Is this wrong? :

9. I can't tell whether you're joking, but are you talking about my post? - For me, "X" is worse than AI

Since MUSKrat took Twitter and called it "X" I stopped clicking on any "X" - yet, there are tons of posts here with links to X, including by AI Sleuths.
