SubPilot: Why does an app that seems to have so much promise

. . . seem not to want your business at all?

Now of course, if we've signed up for an app, we'll know if we're being billed so much per month - or more. You may be one of those who keep meticulous lists of the apps and their fees. I'm not one of those who is smart enough to do that. It seemed that SubPilot was a good solution for me: for this lazy sod who never even considered that I might keep a simple spreadsheet listing my apps, their fees, and even an appendix with other information about my apps.

During the sign-up process for SubPilot, one creates a password and one enters the password twice. I did that. Then I was stopped in my tracks by this promising new app as it told me that I've entered the wrong password, and that I must go back a page and try again. I fought with this problem, creating six new passwords and using them to go through the sign-up process again - and again - etc.

I guess I'm a poor learner. I tried so hard, paying what I thought was due attention. Nothing I did got me signed up. I decided to give up. At that moment I checked my bank account to see that at least they'd paid themselves the proper fee.

They'd asked $40. Their debit was $69.99. There was a second debit of $19.99. I didn't remember anything about a second fee, and going back through all the sign-up pages, I couldn't find it.

I know this isn't the best description of the process or the problem, but I hope you can understand it. The point is that SubPilot promises something it's unable or unwilling to provide.

I'm going to review all my scribbled notes to be sure I have everything in a document I can refer to when I make my plea to Paypal to get my money back. I've never had to do this. I'm a little nervous.

Got any advice for a woman who used to be sharp as a tack, but who now is embarrassingly clueless?

---> Also, is there a better forum in which to post this?

The only ones I use are free and if there's a problem with them I can easily delete them.
