My phone is blowing up with texts from friends.

I'm sorry, darkstar.

RIP.

You were like an old friend, I saw you many times over the years.

I remember when you were wearing the shorter than short shorts!

Some wanted to know why and you said it was for the ladies out there.

And yeah, we looked alright!

Rest in peace and I'm sure you are up there jamming with Jerry right now!

Without love in a dream it will never come true!

...and my wife used to check him out too.

I got into a 30 minute conversation one time with a friend about his shorts.

I'm sorry you are hurting.

What shall we say, shall we call it by a name
As well to count the angels dancing on a pin
Water bright as the sky from which it came
And the name is on the earth that takes it in
We will not speak but stand inside the rain
And listen to the thunder shout
I am, I am, I am, I am

He never had a plan to retire.
But he did anyway.

He will be greatly missed.

I first saw him at Winterland in 1974 at the beginning days of the Wall of Sound in February of that year.

Great show it was!

That bumper sticker used to crack me up.

3 months to the day since my brother passed.
He saw about 300 shows. I saw 5. The Dead coming to the Morhership (Hampton) twice a year was a big deal whether you were a Deadhead or not.

Don't make me dig out and post the photo of my 1988 F-150 with my "Bob Spit On Me" bumper sticker on the rear window, right next to my "Lesh is More" bumper sticker, and my "Garciya Later" bumper sticker, and my "The Fat Man Rocks" bumpersticker.

Memories underpants, memories...

Hampton was ALWAYS a blast...

Haven't heard it since then! Wow. I can just imagine all the ink used on the sheet music to this one.

He used to go to the part of Montana I lived in, a guy with a rock shop made picks for him out of river agates.I never met him up there, though.

At least he didn't suffer for a long time.
