Are you prepping for snow/ice? I am. Hope not to lose power, which comes in underground to my development. Bought a battery charger for my phone to use if we do. Don't want to break my Wordle streak! Last time I went through a major ice storm here was 20+ years ago: power was out for a week, but that was in Chapel Hill and trees came down everywhere, blocking streets and taking down power lines.
No trees and no power lines where I'm living now.
Yeah. It's kind of waiting for the shoe to drop. Today and tomorrow in the 60s and on Friday the bottom drops out when the front arrives and we get sleet and snow. The worst thing is sleet here. It takes down limbs which fall on to the power lines and take them down too. We have lots of trees around here (we even live across the street from the Dallas Arboretum) and there are nearly no underground power lines.
The power company has promised they're ready for it. But after the last one that left us without power for a week, I bought a solar phone charger. I guess we have to take it seriously since Cruz has fled the state:
