I'm desperate to find a single positive headline

coming out of the United States. I’m an expat living in Panama, and want to find one good thing that’s happening.
So:
Anybody lick a forever stamp?
Get a new puppy?
Remember what day it was?
Buy extra batteries?
Found a puppy breath candle?
Know what day it is immediately after waking up?
Have that Cookies In The oven Smell?
Desperate over here…

Quiche next with other pie crust. My puppies are 16 and 17 and look like they’ll make it another day. I know what day it is now, but I’ve been up for 8 hours. Best of all, I didn’t lick any stamps, forever or otherwise.

I was able to get out and walk a mile to the store and back. Bring home some bagels and fruit in a little backpack. To me that’s progress.

(That was the bad news… but wait.)

It took 6 of us and a winch, but we got her up and she’s walking around and eating. She’ll be 40 in May and is healthy and beautiful. That’s the good news!

I found myself watching a string of those FB reels where they have two rows of chairs like in the lobby of an animal rescue or something and the people sit there as a dog or cat comes out and picks their new person. Everyone cries and I have to squeeze my furbabies. It’s weirdly therapeutic.

but i have discovered my rice cooker will do more than rice. Made a lovely pot of brown rice, beans and lentils that will last a few days and make some simple rice bowls for dinner.

I get that guy in my feed sometimes. I like the Hereford bull on a Brahma cow, it is usually the other way around. had a cousin who wanted to build a herd that way back when Brahma crosses were more popular around here. can't hardly find a Brahma here anymore.

I wonder why the Brahma fell out of favor out there.

for a few years anything black paid better than anything with color no matter what the carcass was going to look like. it was silly. now solid reds, baldies, and a touch of char compete with angus. still brangus cattle around but they are crossing back to strait angus or baldies.
