I have phone numbers of 4 neighbors. One is like family and has helped me often. Have him over for supper sometimes and got him to come out to local protests, which he likes doing now.

One neighbor took job in D.C. for a few year stint, and his daughter is living there now. Not the best of neighbors.

Neighbors across the street had ut, but they moved away.
Funny thing about the neighbor next door & my wife.
My wife & she call each other on the landline all the time, but they text on cellphone. I have no idea why they don't use the cell for both.

Around here, people run from each other rather than pass on the sidewalk. Casual conversation and/or interaction is not a thing here.

Maybe 3. When we moved to this house, the neighbors were more outgoing. Over the years, it's gone from being a neighborhood to a collection of houses. Lots of suspicious, inward looking people.

I used to chat with the neighbors when out putzing in my front yard... but all the new neighbors hire people to do their yards and their cleaning... and I can't get out as much as I used to.

At one point, we were all signed up for the local neighborhood watch and I had everyone's name and phone number. That time is long gone.

and update our list at the block party each August. I also have info for some of the people behind us, on the next block over.

I'm on a text chain with 6 on my street. But I have numbers from people all over my neighborhood. I've lived here a long time
