Bring back the Canada goose! At least he was fun—though I’m not clear on why they continued playing with him halfway into left field. Surprised the Phillies didn’t bitch about interference, though I don’t think he seriously affected the play.

I hate and fear rodents. Bugs don't bother me, but rodents absolutely freak me out.

My beautiful Wrigley Field desecrated by a rat. I may not sleep all night.

intelligent and quite trainable. I fear mosquitos, they kill more people than rats and spread malaria along with other serious diseases.

who went by "rat" nicknames:

Gary "The Rat" Gaetti — He was given this nickname for his looks and because he was considered an aggressive player, with teammates and fans saying, "you can't sneak the cheese past the Rat".

Whitey "The White Rat" Herzog — Hall of Fame manager Whitey Herzog was famously nicknamed "The White Rat". He managed the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1980s, where he implemented "Whiteyball" and assembled a group of fast, high-contact players known as the "Cards Rat Pack".

But at this point, I would think Mets fans would prefer rats on the field to the high-priced team that's been assembled!
