Frog Stories Around a Nuclear Power Plant.

Akira Ikezoe, (b. 1979) 2015.

On display at the Whitney Biennial, in New York.

Akira Ikezoe paints elaborate circular systems, narratives with no beginning or end. They often include power sources—the sun, a nuclear power plant, and methane from cow feces. Energy flows from these sources throughout the compositions according to Ikezoe’s own imaginative logic, illuminating connections between humanity and nature.

The cow feces to methane painting and a painting about wind turbines and a sculpture representing a natural gas well. by Ikezoe is also on display at the Whitney Biennial, which my wife attended this last weekend as well

I shared a photograph of the frog painting with my son, the nuclear engineer.

If you're in New York, a visit to the Whitney is a worthy enterprise.
