The Shark

 

Peter Benchley, who wrote JAWS, was my brother ... sort of.

He was friends with my sister Francie and her husband Greg, a marine biologist. When he learned that Francie had a sister whose last name was De Haai, ( which means The Shark in Dutch), he wrote to me and playfully asked if he could adopt me to be his sister too.

I told him I'd be delighted.

So, as I said, Peter Benchley was my brother ... sort of.
