I found out yesterday that I am related to a signer of the Declaration of Independence!

I am pretty stoked!
The local chapter of the DAR held a reading of the Declaration at a park near me yesterday and I went. I couldn’t wait to tell my friends who are in the DAR that I may be joining them!
Ancestors is Charles Carroll of Carrollton.

colonists, Puritans, early founders of the nation, signers of the DOC, Revolutionary War vets, or are related to former presidents.

Most don't know it unless they find records or DNA results in genealogy research.

Fun to discover it, isn't it?

I was surprised to find several colonial Puritans from MA and CT in my grandmother's ancestry. FDR descended from one of the same colonial couples that I do, which, I guess, makes him a very, very distant relative.

Genealogy shows us that all people everywhere are connected in many ways.
