A few months ago, I met a young filmmaker named Yvan Iturriaga.

The other day, it came to my attention that he’s working on a short film project. I’m sharing it here because it asks an existential question that becomes more relevant every day for We the People under the Trumpian regime. That is, “What will you do when the **it hits the fan?”

Yvan has been documenting the Chilean people’s reaction to three decades of oppression under a dictator. The people finally decided enough was enough, and took to the streets over a seemingly minor “last straw.” The military was called in to quell the demonstrations.

Violence against the citizens ensued, and the elites headed for more pleasant locations till things settled down. Based on this OP, things haven’t settled down. A young club singer from Thailand was offered a way out, but her empathy and compassion for the Chilean people required her to face that existential question.

Yvan’s Kickstarter video is less than 4 minutes long. I hope you’ll find it as compelling as I did.
