The Greek drama is close to end. Yesterday, we had another proof that the lenders do not care really about the Greek recovery, but only to punish Greeks very hard, in order to send a signal to the rest of the eurozone members: Don't even think to abandon catastrophic austerity.http://failedevolution.blogspot.gr/2015/06/why-neoliberal-sadists-seek-to-deepen.html

(401 posts)I read the failed evolution article and I think it's all accurate, which is scary. The Spanish left-wing party "Podemos" is certainly targeted. And this whole austerity project is lunacy.

(11,481 posts)Austerity is actually a very logical concept for the capitalists. There's a thread that I posted the other day from Jacobin magazine about what austerity is all about and why it's favored by the bourgeoisie. It IS the class war from the other side and it's worth the read. So, not lunacy from their perspective.

(401 posts)I went back and found the Jacobin article and it's really good. I missed it the first time around.

(11,481 posts)then austerity IS lunacy and you'll always be wondering WHY this stuff is happening. But capitalism is NOT a humanist or humanitarian type of system, so those rules don't apply. You have to look at it from the POV of the rules of the system. When you do that, it all makes perfect sense.
