The man who suffered an electrical shock at a Papillion construction site Wednesday has died as a result of his injuries, officials said Thursday.
Jeffrey Glup, 42, had been taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in extremely critical condition Wednesday after he was shocked while working at the new Papillion Public Works Department facility at 9909 Portal Road.
Emergency responders from the Papillion Fire Department attempted to resuscitate Glup during the ambulance ride to the hospital. Fire Chief Bill Bowes said the accident occurred about 2:30 p.m.
A subcontractor was working on a drainage system around the building when workers struck an electrical service line with a backhoe, said Capt. Rolly Yost of the Sarpy County Sheriffs Office. The line was encased in a plastic conduit, he said.
