Repurposing: Can you think of a way to use damask tablecloths?

I have been buying large white damask tablecloths for many years and probably have forty or fifty of them. Good ones. I'm wondering if you have seen anyone repurposing them for something delightful? Some of them I wouldn't mind cutting. Others are too precious to cut.

Any thoughts?

Although I've never tried these ideas, and I as well have several beautiful unused cloths, they would be beautiful as curtains or drapes; also I thought of using one or two as the top of a duvet cover, or as a lining for a special quilt, or perhaps the top of a quilt with the stitching following some of the damask pattern. Also, if you sew clothing, they could be turned into beautiful evening wear, would look better with lining.

I inherited several old cloths that are partially ragged; I had thought to use those as smaller craft projects - evening bags, using other fabric combined with; cut up into quilt pieces and used with other fabrics and/or different patterned damask to create quilt; as the background for fabric collage/art; making those large beautiful fabric flowers (directions can be found in various places) which in turn could be used as accessories on clothing or as jewelry. Pillow covers, pillow-cases. Place-mats, table runners......

....although some of the ideas require crafting techniques I haven't used. At least I have some ideas cooking in my brain now. The cloths aren't doing anyone any good just sitting on shelves or in tubs in storage. Winter projects ahead. One site had beautiful baby bonnets made from vintage linens. I like that thought.

I have made pillow cases many times and they look great. You must iron the tablecloths first, hem the top edges and then cut the cloth into sections that would equal at least 2 cases then sew together. I have used contemporary measurements and always made two or more, depending on the size of the tablecloth. Napkins are a pain in the neck.
Good luck.

Kathy, I recommend that you remove your phone number from your post ASAP. DU has online stalkers who have at times tried to harm members here. And sometimes they have succeeded in doing so.

As for your suggestion, I will keep it in mind! Thanks.

Just cut it down the middle and added a hem and rod pocket.
