To Goo-Gone or not? Bru Doll

Need some advice. I have been all over the internet looking for info.
Last week I bought a lovely old doll, she is marked(impressed) under the wig, Bru--but because of glue residue from or because of the change in wig, there is glue next to the signature. I am trying to find out if she is an old repro or the real deal. She definitely is not a new doll.
She has a replaced wig, I can tell by the left-over dark brown hair attached to her head. She has a cloth body with porcelain arms, legs and of course, the head and shoulders.
Her original outer dress is gone but she still has her original undergarments, fishnet type stockings and patent leather Mary Jane type shoes.
She is signed on her porcelain shoulders in the back, 'RPD 75'. One of her fingers on her right hand is broken at the mid-point.
She has a slightly open mouth and if you look carefully, I think you can see teeth. Not sure.
I guess my question is, do I dare to try and remove with Goo-Gone, the old, dried glue next to the Bru impression to see if there is any other mark?
Any help or reference would be appreciated.

PS. As I looked her over, I'm not sure if her arms and legs are wood or porcelain. The finish is so smooth and painted.
