Anyone here know how to clean an old plush toy?

I have a 5 foot Snoopy, given to my kids in the 1970-80's. He as sat in a chair for years. My girls, now in their 40's no longer want him and I want to sell him. How many 5 foot Snoopy's are there?

He is in need of a cleaning. His white plush fur is slightly grey and there are two spots of rust colored marks on his body.
His back has some overcast stitching here and there.
Because of his size, I know he is rare but because he is so grey, I think his market value would be better if he was cleaned up.

I have no idea what a market value would be for him but he is cute, huge, and needs a new home.

I would like to freshen him up but have no idea what to use.
Any Thoughts?

i know that they use chalk to whiten up show dogs before they go in the ring.
also, what about a wallpaper sponge? dry cleaning thingee.

I don't soak it, but mix mild shampoo and water, then use a washcloth. If what I'm cleaning is really dirty or has a spot, I use a little Oxyclean. I don't soak the entire thing; maybe just the top of the stuffing gets damp, even after rinsing (again, using a cloth or sponge). I roll it in towel to get out as much water as I can, then set it somewhere with good air flow (on another towel) to dry.
