Here are my first two. My OCD has a grip on me. Stripping and painting a couple of outdoor benches and some outdoor furniture, I found that I had trouble letting go and accepting that it was good enough. With these two first paintings, I've been obsessing about everything wrong and the need to make it perfect.

(121,976 posts)at some point you just have to decide it's finished and let it go - otherwise you'll keep fiddling with it until you go crazy or mess it all up. That's been my experience, anyhow. You're off to a good start. Just keep painting and don't worry about making them perfect. Let your instructor help you decide whether it's finished.
