I have an IG account for my artwork. I've been getting at least one message a day for people wanting to by my work with NFTs. I know it's a scam. Anyone else get these?

(12,935 posts)I get them all the time. I just block them and move on.
Also get male creepers about two a day.
Instagram is becoming a real pain in the ass. In all of my time there, fr the effort I've put in. I have only made one appreciable sale and that was from someone who was already a client who was trying to find me to buy the matching painting to complete the diptych, of which they had only purchased one.

(24,398 posts)I had four of my accounts hacked recently. They changed my email address and locked me out. And IG was no help whatsoever. I've never sold a thing through them. Other than seeing other's work, I'm beginning to think it's a complete waste of time. I used to check it all day. Now I log on once or twice a day and keep my phone downstairs in the junk drawer. It's becoming too much of a distraction. Screw social media!

(12,935 posts)Between 1989 and 2000 I sold over one hundred pcs of art by traditional means
agents and galleries. Over the last twenty years I have sold art,,, but on my own with little help or representation.
This is a paradigm shift that is effecting every corner of the art and literary world. The art marketing business model keeps moving the goal posts. Add to that the decrease in disposable income and the pandemic
forgedaboudit. The cherry on to is that AI is going to make us all irrelevant.
A wise friend once told me Artistic achievement cannot be measured in the cold calculation of income. Im holding on to that.
