McNaughton's Forgotten Man and Mount Rushmore

I know McNaughton's The Forgotten Man is old news but I haven't seen anyone remark upon the allusions to Mount Rushmore to be found within the painting.

If we use Photoshop to horizontally flip the portion From Lincoln to Washington we get this:

And when we compare the positioning of Washington, Jefferson, Reagan and Lincoln to Mount Rushmore we get this:

Apparently McNaughton has banished the progressive Teddy Roosevelt to stand next to an uncrippled FDR applauding President Obama stepping on the Constitution. Ronald Reagan has been promoted to fill Teddy's spot on the mountain.

It's also interesting to note Andrew Jackson, who defied the Supreme Court and ordered the Trail of Tears, gets a position of honor next to Abraham Lincoln.

Anyway, I found it interesting and amusing in an absurdist way. Carry on.
