Hubby and I camped nearby and hiked the trail leading to Devil’s Tombstone. It’s a brutal trek in July....lots of biting flies and oh my gosh it was hot. We each brought a gallon of water but it wasn’t enough in my opinion. Beautiful area...would love to go back in autumn.

Your painting is very nice.

You did an excellent job capturing the intensity of the colors and shapes of landscape that is so uniquely American. It’s compelling and well executed. I really like your loose brushwork and the way you keep it consistent throughout the entire canvas. The shaded foreground gives the landscape the perspective of great depth, distance and immensity while balancing the colors. I also love your rendition of the sky in the same multi hued brushwork.

It is a painting that is saturated in brilliant colors and it’s very satisfying to eyes that hunger for color. Thank you!

I love how sensitively you've observed the shape of the gap between the formations and your loose brushwork.
