The mixed media and the detail work is really good! I have no knowledge what this story is but theres a definite feeling that there is much more to it because the picture is in the act of opening the adventure for the viewer.

The effect is aesthetically pleasing and warm. You seem to be depicting the cycle of death and renewed life. This cycle is bound together by the heavy chain of bondage to that cycle. Your title leads the viewer to this although I wonder if the feather might indicate the possibility of escaping the cycle. Or is it to warn of the futility of trying. Its an interesting idea to explore.
