Why she and her husband continue to put furniture and other amenities down there is a head-scratcher to me. It seems like basement flooding has happened to them at least a twenty times over the years, with sump pumps and other preventative measures only helping sometimes.

Their home is next to a creek that frequently overflows during heavy rain too.

That why everything was at least a foot off the ground. But when you get a couple feet, things get ruined! Not too much of value was lost. But we may be out a washer, dryer, hot water heater, and a furnace.

It definitely has a swampy air to it. You’ve caught the messiness of water damage, making it look like nature in swamps. It does definitely have a wetlands look of greenery floating on the surface of water and the brown color of tree trunks and roots growing out of the water. Maybe even a fish or two meandering among the submerged roots.

You have a good eye for the details of nature and here is another example of your powers of observation and your ability to discern the details of color and form. I really enjoy the abstract ness of it.
